PFASNOAA LABORATORY

NOAA’s breakthrough in the fight against forever chemicals

In a series of tests by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration leveraging NBOT’s patent-pending process, PFAS concentrations were reduced from 3 million ppt down to non-detect levels.

ALGAELAKE OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA

Port Mayaca Lock and Dam algae remediation

Port Mayaca connects Lake Okeechobee to the St. Lucie canal. Water samples showed heavy concentrations of microcystis algae, cyanobacteria and microcystin toxin. NBOT was deployed for 24 hours. Test results also showed a significant reduction in both ammonia and nitrogen levels, which could slow down and reduce algae growth in the future.

ALGAELAKE NEWPORT, OHIO

Mill Creek MetroPark & Lake Newport

A 60-acre lake with 40 acres of wetlands, chosen to test NBOT on faster moving creek water, slower moving lake water, and stagnant water with no flow. NBOT was deployed for 1 week. Visual results were seen over 1 mile from the equipment site, demonstrating the ability of nano-bubbles to remain stable in water and travel long distances.

WASTEWATERHOG LAGOON, NORTH CAROLINA

Animal wastewater treatment

Samples from the lagoon showed elevated levels of nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, ammonia), organic materials, heavy metals and E. coli bacteria. NBOT was deployed on a lagoon sample for 24 hours, with a 60–90% decrease in nutrients and heavy metals.

ALGAECENTRAL OHIO

Lake Sylvan research project

An 18-week project coordinated by Ohio State University with the U.S. EPA, Ohio EPA, NOAA, University of Florida and Green Water Solutions, funded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to study the impact of ozonated nanobubbles on harmful algal blooms.

BALLASTLAKE SUPERIOR RESEARCH INSTITUTE

Independent validation for ship ballast water

An independent testing laboratory validated NOAA research findings, confirming NBOT is highly effective in controlling algae, bacteria, and motile zooplankton in ship ballast water.
